Book 1 in Black Dagger Brotherhood series

In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Yet none of them relishes killing more than Wrath, the leader of The Black Dagger Brotherhood.

The only purebred vampire left on earth, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But, when one of his most trusted fighters is killed-leaving his half-breed daughter unaware of his existence or her fate-Wrath must usher her into the world of the undead-a world of sensuality beyond her wildest dreams.  (from Goodreads)

I just don't know.  I loved this until the end.  I mean, it was great.  I enjoy that she at least was thinking "You can't control me!"  and "This is wrong!"  And I also enjoyed the brothers themselves.  They're hilarious and definitely made this story not as serious as I was afraid it was going to be.

What I hated?  Insta-love.  It had it.  I cringed when it happened.  I cringed further at the *SPOILER* wedding.  Seriously, you just declared love for each other an hour ago.  Wedding?  Not a reasonable jump.

With that said, Wrath was a very interesting character being that he is practically blind.  Talk about game changer, folks.  He doesn't even truly know what his love looks like and he KNOWS she's gorgeous.  Yeah, swoon.  I'll admit that.  Plus being a different kind of sexy, long hair and all, is a refreshing change from the typical "shoulder length wavy hair" trend.

Beth was hilarious, and I am determined to name my next cat Boo.  Seriously, why didn't I think of that sooner?  Oh, I remember why.  I was 7 when I got him.  Stupid me.  Anyways, Beth has a real job, supports herself, and actually gets caught in a bad situation that she gets herself out of without any help from anyone else.  Yeah, I'm liking the girl power.

Unresolved things with their story:  Did Beth quit her job?  She just randomly stops showing up...like seriously.  What about her crappy boss?  Isn't he going to notice when she doesn't show up for a week?  Things that are never answered.
